it's kind of amusing how, despite this game being the first to have model rips (by quite a while), they've all since surpassed it and it's now the least populated page here out of the series

@Mech_v1: Good question! I think what they do is use the transparency of the textures as a mask for the light, which is dynamically offset based on their position relative to the light.
