And if you want a Super Mario Galaxy like rim lighting you should make this: http://www.cgmasters.net/free-tutorials/falloff/ Read just the Using Nodes part, this is everything important. In my opinion this makes everything look really nice. Just a little tip.
Okay, it works fine with Rosalina now. I kinda re-read and tried a few more times, and got it to show her correctly. Thanks you two.
EDIT: Didn't see your comment Ray Koopa xD I don't know why either.

@Tiramisu6: Yeah, that's because the lighting is not sufficient for her to show her colors. The tiny blob in the 3D space besides the camera and Rosalina is a light. You should right click it and set it to "Hemi" in the light properties panel. Actually, that is what my scene has set up already, about which I wonder why it didn't work for you. =3
Does it now work?
Okay, here's what I usually do.
Open Blender > Delete Random Grey Cube > Import DAE > Import Rosalina.dae
And she's pure grey.
Changes Viewport Shading to Texture > Deletes Lamp/Lighting > Rosalina.dae becomes PURE white.
Open Blender > Delete Random Grey Cube > Import DAE > Import Rosalina.dae
And she's pure grey.
Changes Viewport Shading to Texture > Deletes Lamp/Lighting > Rosalina.dae becomes PURE white.
@Lumcoin: That doesn't seem to work for me.
@Ray Koopa: Is she supposed to be all grey-ish looking when I import her? Without your Import Scene, she's grey, when I take out the lighting, she's pure white. With your Import Scene, she's still grey, but when I click Rendered, she appears fine. When I do the Specular thing like you and Lumcoin suggested, it doesn't change anything.
EDIT: Oh o.o I didn't see any of the new comments. Lemme read through 'em.

@Ray Koopa Sry while writing I saw not that you already said the same.
rightclick at Rosalina (or whatever) if she is still white/very bright then go to the top of the bottom right window where a lot of symbols are. Select the red/black circle. There you are at the material tab. Go down to specular and decrease the intensity and increase the hardness. Now it should work. (sry for any grammatical mistakes, I'm German and my English is not... perfect)
@Lumcoin: Yeah, that are basically the steps to do with the default Blender scene to get acceptable results. My linked scene has all that set-up, including an additional sun for better game-like rendering. =)
Oh. Now i know what you meant. You are still at solid mode. Follow these steps. press shift A while having the cursor in the 3d view window, go with the cursor to lamp-> hemi. Then click on the white circle under the 3d view right to "object mode". then select Material.
@Tiramisu6: You may just have a bad lighting setup. Here, use my Import Scene with which I also did the preview renders:
From there, just File > Import > DAE > Rosalina.dae.
Then you maybe want to fix the materials shinyness being too high for DAE imports (rightclick model, Property window at right > Material tab (spherical icon) > Specular: 0.000 instead of 0.500).
From there, just File > Import > DAE > Rosalina.dae.
Then you maybe want to fix the materials shinyness being too high for DAE imports (rightclick model, Property window at right > Material tab (spherical icon) > Specular: 0.000 instead of 0.500).
You find Material at the bottom right window (properties) in the Blender default scene.
Go to Material and there you find a section called specular.
@Lumcoin: Me? If so, er, how do you do that? I'm Googling it and I can't find anything.
Specular. Hardness is mostly set to 1. Set it to 50 or something like that and turn intensity down. This should work.
@Ray Koopa: Blender.
@Tiramisu6: Which program are you using for import?
... :/ When I open Rosalina's .dae File, she's pure white when I view her with textures. And this goes for most .dae files I find on this site. What's the simple fix, since I'm such a noob? Anyone know?
@TrinitroMan: That's not the issue (the FSKL section is figured out in the important parts), it's more an issue of my personal ripping workflow, where the bones get "crushed" when transferring the BFRES import from 3DS Max to Blender.
@Ray Koopa: Oh...that would explain the lack of bones in the other Wii U model rips...
I really hope the bone format will be figured out soon, just like the bone format for Brawl character mods.
