same here, i have considering trying to rip models but I get too anxious ill mess it up, and i don't know the most about this stuff yet
the models resource is super useful to beginners like me, ive actually learned a ton lately!! thank you to all the wonderful people checking and uploading these models for us :)

Personally, I can't rip switch game stuff. I tried before and got confumbled on like step 2. I'd rather wait and have every model checked, fixed, and made sure I won't download a virus than get all the models that sure, they may work... but it's just too sketchy.

@CoralTheInkling I've got my own models in the queue lmao, it just so happens that only a few people are ripping the game and uploading it. It stinks that it takes a while but it ensures we have good models for everyone

@CoralTheInkling: To answer your question about the uploader tags, no, the staff don't add our own names to submissions if they're approved, the names you see attached to the submissions there pertain to whoever submitted it in the first place (which, yes, a lot of the time happens to be from our own staff). More often than not if it seems like there's a single member's name applied to submissions, it's because they just happen to be the only ones ripping and uploading those specific models at the time.

Meanwhile someone on a specific splatoon3 vrchat discord gave me a 1.5 gig file full of 7zip files with properly rigged models and a file with instructions on how to rip your own. I Already have the stringers, wipers, and crab tank. I'm a happy squid.

The model approval ensures that:

1. The meshes and rigging are not broken.

2. The model has textures, that texture paths are relative, and any channel packed textures get separated.

3. Reviewing/replacing the preview pictures or adding preview pictures.

3. No viruses end up on the site.

There is probably more involved. Basically, it just ensures that we can trust the site to have quality models that are virus free.

@Aurumantem Look at splatoon 2 and see that most of the models are uploaded by one person... or is it just that the approver gets tagged as the uploader?

Yep, they are for sure not the only uploader lmao. Anyone can upload models, it just takes a while for everything to get approved.

Centrixe is part of the site staff and can approve their own model submissions.

The rest of us have to wait in the queue. Expect to wait at least couple months for them to be looked over [they may be pushed up the model queue due to game popularity]. It is what it is, after all there are 1000+ models in the queue right now.
