@eluna I actually looked through the in-game environments and they're not actually images. They're coordinates/rotation/intensity data for directional lights.

Anyone who's curious as to whether the players use face plates or rigs, the answer is quite literally just yes. It uses a combination of the two to achieve the variety of facial expressions we see in the game. I was not at all surprised by this, honestly. It makes sense why they would do it, and it works great in-game. Anyway, yeah. That's all I came here to say.
