Google Drive Link to a .blend file of mine with an Inkling and Octoling I have set up with some shaders. They are not 100 percent accurate but it's usually what I start with.
@IntoTheLight take the TCL texture and plug it into the subsurface input(?), then change the color with subsurface color! This should work
I'm new to blender, too, but is relatively simple once you learn it!

Hi, does anyone know how to set up the ink colours for the tentacles and the eyebrows? I'm new to blender so I'm not exactly sure on how to do it.
Requests of any kind are not allowed in the site comments, especially those asking for raw game assets. That's something we can't assist you with, you'll need to figure it out on your own.
@dan1209 that sounds like way too much work, could someone else please do that and distribute the .BFRES files?
@TheGayBaka The .bfres.zs can be extracted with the Yuzu emulator. And the Switch-Toolbox can open those.
@dan1209 How do you get .bfres files?
The animations can be extracted as .smd from the .bfres with the Switch-Toolbox (Github: KillzXGaming/Switch-Toolbox). The .smd can then be imported to the armature in blender.
Ink Tank Setup I came up with. The UV might need editing, not sure if I changed that or not.
Cool! I'm new to blender so I can't really experiment and fiddle with things until they work like most people probably can. I also noticed that the hair physics are different with splat 3 models. I use the wigglebones add on for the hair and the splat 3 hair seems stiffer and heavier even with the same settings as splat 2 hair. It works fine with other characters like Shiver. idk why it would be different.
@MrCoolJelly all the maps and stuff (besides the normal maps) work the exact same. although moving into the new game, i would recommend you use squidnodes. someone here mentioned it before but i think everybody should use this. literally makes the entire thing super easy and it even has a node for fixing the normal maps
Sweet. thx. I watched this guy when I set up the splat 2 models but never watched the Gear Alpha mask part. also, I didn't think it would work the same, so I didn't go back to that video.
@Ren 99% of the time they work like the splatoon 2 models. use this tutorial series https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjm2KeX-u_6AhUdkWoFHbhABLkQwqsBegQIDhAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoeQ3iIGJa8E&usg=AOvVaw1MYzNicoBDZUmO_bl2c3hi
i really hope someone posts a tutorial soon. I been trying to attach pants/clothes and trying to add textures for hours now
@Fridox, it didn't do anything. I'm using cycles. is there anything else that I might have to set up before or after applying the alpha???
Obviously the best squid game
@Desper_Octo: Splatoon Customs in the Custom /Edited console.
@MrCoolJelly Just put the alpha mask (btm_##_opa.png) into the Alpha input in the Principled BSDF and (if you're using Eevee) go to the Material Settings (the checkered sphere in the right of the screen) and change the blend and shadow mode to Alpha Clip (Don't use Alpha Blend/Hashed because it's laggy/it's noisy)
how does one apply these masks???
Use the gear alpha masks to make the clipping parts of the body model transparent.
Additionally, use the correct BTM model for the body type [F for Player 0/2, M for Player 1/3].
