@Ninetails2000 foreshadowing

@gobro9000 imagine if NES was instead named "Ricoh 2C02"

I can't believe technology like this for ripping SNES models that are stored in the data files of the game exists.

Splitting SNES and Super FX into their own sections would be like splitting the Genesis, CD and 32X into their own sections for sprites. They're all different parts of the same whole so it's a distinction without much difference.

I'm pretty sure the main reason Super FX won't get its own console section is because it still requires an SNES to run, as Super FX is just a chipset while the SNES is a whole console. Creating a new section for Super FX games would be like separating PC/Mobile games by hardware specs or CPU architecture. Plus if someone came to this site looking for Starfox models and don't know what Super FX is, they would probably just go to the SNES section instead.

@MarioFanGamer infact Im pretty sure the tri-force in LTTP uses the stock SNES to render (admitidly even more primitive than StarFox) 3D models

@gobro9000: No. Like I said earlier, it's on the SNES in the first place. We're not going to rename this section after a specific subset of games, what happens if later on non-Super FX games get their models ripped? Then we'd have to make a completely separate section for those for no good reason. It's staying as it is.

just call the this console section, Super FX

OH MY GOSHNESS THIS HAS SO MANY POLYGONS WHEN I INSERTED IT MY DEVICE EXPLODED!!!!! AAAAAAH

There also is the fact that Super FX isn't the only way to render models. In fact, SA-1 (e.g. Super Mario RPG) and CX4 (e.g. Mega Man X2 or smth) both are used to render models much like Super FX. Actually, you can use the pure SNES if you want, primitive maths (e.g. unsigned multiplication) and lack of bitmap to planar conversion (i.e. converting graphics you can easily rotate to graphics the SNES can read) just makes this very impractical.

@gobro9000: Why? It's literally on the SNES in the first place.

rename SNES in to Super FX in the models resource

virtual racing sega genesis has 3d models too

i thought it did, wasnt vortex sfx2? contrary to popular belief, star fox 2 wasnt, btw. just more ram.

I guess it doesn’t work with Super FX 2 games…

i used this. https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1604/ . feel free to help me out here, fellas. when the tool rips, there are A LOT of little tiny models, some of which are in many parts.

WHAT?! I thought ripping SNES models was impossible!

How did you rip these? I never expected SNES games to have 3D models.

Nice! I thought I would never see an SNES section on the Models Resource. :O

The models from this game are incredibly primitive and come in many pieces- whats here is likely all that will be submitted by me.
