that must be an issue on your end, the model here is already quads. are you subdividng your model properly?
Could you please include an unedited version? like, where all the quads are still quads and their uvs aren't messed with so that the average joe can see em "correctly"

I can't really call any rest post that's not standard A-pose or T-pose "proper". Although yeah, in terms of 3D modelling, one can argue that "proper" bind pose would be anything as long as it's symmetrical - which in this case, it is a proper bind pose.

@plimmertheinatornerd2017 the sega saturn uses quadrilaterals (quads) instead of triangles (tris) for the polygon structure

proper rest pose and accurate quads and texture mapping. old rip had some textures flipped.

its easy to rig
this is a very good model
sonic the fighters is the first. and even then fighting vipers had a sonic character in it too. if you really want to get technical, the first 3d sonic model was used to make sonic 3's title screen.
