I love this game :3
Hey guys, so I'm starting to rip generations models, and it's going well so far. However, there is one specific model I want to rip that isn't on the Models Resource. It's the stage entrance for city escape. I, however, can't seem to find which "cte_cmn.ar" or "cte###.ar" file contains that model. If anyone knows which one it is, please let me know
Modern Sonic's model does appear to be slightly higher poly in Sonic x Shadow, you can see that his tan belly is more rounder
apparently, the field map from the intro to the game is in the files somewhere so they pulled a sonic colors ultimate by leaving pre-rendered cutscene files in the game.
@Random Talking Bush did you check if the textures are unchanged? i expected them to be higher resolution like in Colors Ultimate
Before anyone asks "why am I uploading Sonic X Shadow Generations models here", it's because for all intents and purposes the re-release uses the exact same models, just converted to an updated format (even the textures are unchanged from the original release from what I've seen). I'm still working on the Chao, they'll all be here in due time.
(EDIT: My decision was vetoed. So you'll just have to go here for those. https://www.models-resource.com/pc_computer/sonicxshadowgenerations/)

@ThatOneSonicFan the speed highway cars that i ripped would go in the objects tab probably as the game considers them objects
So how long does it take for something to finish pending? also where would speed highway cars even go?
good to know!
@Chilgt: Models ripped from the newly-announced remake should go to a separate page.
So will this page be used for the remake, or will there be a new page?
Considering these model packages contain .dae and .fbx (fbx for some, dae for most) so there's a chance they are rigged
@(d)emo(n) The models are rigged. The armature joints are too tiny to see but if you load any characters model (excluding Super forms since their obj) then they contain an armature in Blenders hierarchy. Just select it from there and go into pose mode. And I think animations still work. But I haven't tested that out fully yet
i like how the character's statues are based on 2D artwork (for the most part)
@Joeyinsully: The latter is just an in-game shader effect, and can't be ripped as such.
I'm surprised no-one's ripped the stage entrances from that game. Or the colourless dead states of Sonic's friends.
@rveyrand: We don't go out of our way to remove animations, but we don't go out of our way to keep them if the model they're in is broken in some way.
for the rig part: if we talk about stages/statues. it's normal if they not rigged, as there was no rig to begin with.
if we talk about characters/stage objects, seems like those were ripped before the correct tools were available.
as for the animations, even if those are uploaded along the model file, they're usually deleted by whoever did the double checking (I rember having uploaded the cutscene's tornado from Sonic Unleashed with the transformation sequence and only the meshes/rig stayed. the motion was deleted)

How come none of these models are rigged? I thought that since so many people use models from Generations that finding rigged ones would be easy. Then again they also use Generations animations and I haven't found a single file here with animations...
@Sonicvoir Gardevoir
You may surely find it in the pla_xxx.ar_yyy (x and y being numbers) files. you'll need Generations Archive Editor and modelfbx to port them
