you can use ninja ripper to get some models from this game I used it to get ahold of the tornato model that's used in tail's allstars as well as the 3 traffic attack car models

@fajnygosciu1234: Nope, the model format isn't even remotely close to the ones used in Hedgehog Engine games which said tool was designed for.

the extracted .model files you might be able to convert them with modelfbx

best way to reach models (and textures) so far is by using those tools:
https://github.com/Tyaap/ASRT_SumoTTP/releases (use it on the .toc files of this game to unpack it)
https://github.com/Tyaap/ASRT_CpuGpuTool/releases/tag/v1.8-beta (use it on the unpacked [name].cpu.spc files to see everything inside)
every .texture files are just DDS files disguised (just rename the extension to dds) then, if we solely focus on extracting gpu content, we end up with many .model files, the real question is just how to convert those

Anyone know how to get models from this? Kinda want to get Simon's model.

one interesting fact is when tails goes all stars two tornado planes show up next to him whats interesting about that though is that they have the sonic adventure design this is one of the only instances we see this deisgn in hd

Some of them ended up being touched up.
Beat notably uses an entirely different model, based off of his appearance in the first Jet Set Radio rather than Future (which served as the basis of his appearance in the first Sega All-Stars Racing).

Were the character models from the previous game reused?

@AnesTheIdiot Have you ripped it already or not? Also I bet those Models aren't in T-Pose and based off of the og ones

@SmashBrosFan137 i'm gonna try to compare the original pyro model to the pyro model used here

I wonder if the TF2 Models in this are the same from the game itself but with different Texture Mapping

I’m gonna wreck it
The PC is dds format, the other one might be encrypted.

@Muzzarino Nevermind I find it and extracted it. But the files are in tga.texture format (I am doing the wii U version) and renaming them to dds doesn't work.

@Muzzarino There's no extract feature that I can find, are you trying to trick me?
@rveyrand This one tool let's you extract data. Though textures you simply have to rename the format to dds then convert it to png since they're DirectDraw format; models can't be converted yet in which they just contain the vertex and other data headerless:

any way to rip from wii u version?

@ShadowGamer I played the 3ds version [and prefer its controls to the console versions]. It's alright. You didn't play it for the visuals, you played it because it was a fantastic racing game. It had some weird bugs though.

I wonder what the models on the 3ds version would look like

Okay so...I found a BMS script that allow us to uncompress all data files from the game
(link: https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/sonic_sega_allstars.bms ) [how to use: quickBMS.exe -> Script.bms -> gamearchive.toc].
I also found: all models with their respective datas are inside .gpu.spc containers and their respective files names are inside .cpu.spc containers; and the game can be played even with all data files uncompressed, as long as they are inside the data folder of the game.
Hope those little infos help the game ripping, and perhaps game modding
