Most people don't rip playermodels cause it's not that difficult. I am thinking of doing it but organizing it all is such a mess.
I'm going to start ripping models from csgo now and i will probably start ripping other source games too
maps are a bit harder to rip since their not 3d models
its possible to make a map an editable file in the hammer editor and you can rip 3d models from the map itself but the map as a whole is to my knowledge not possible

You can download all the weapon models from Valve, you don't need to rip them
I'm getting ready to convert the rest of the weapons, might be working on maps next
