how do i close the eyes?

just make an emition texture colored gradient its not that hard its easy

@splatnets If you want to that in a software like Blender, it would not be difficult. The easiest way to do it would be to make your own texture. You can use the texture paint workspace in Blender to quickly make such a texture.
Here is an example texture I made, and an example of how you could use it in a material.

how easy would it be to implement the gradient on the fingertips that marina/frye/shiver have?

anybody have any tips for setting up the fade hairstyle? not sure how to make the actual fade part without it looking odd

Use the gear alpha masks plugged into the Alpha input on the Squidnodes node.
I have created a tutorial on how to use gear alpha masks here: https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-41342.html
The gear alpha masks for the pants start with "btm".

what should i do to prevent clipping with the bottoms/pants + legs WHILE using squidnodes? this is what it looks like https://i.imgur.com/YYPgyzI.png

Nice! Glad to have helped :)

It works! thank you so much @CrumbsInBed

Thanks @CrumbsInBed ! Fingers crossed it helps. I use Blender 3.3 though but it may just be hardware dependent

@BruhMan Thank you for the video! and I think i might be able to help with your eyebrows issue. I just tried it and it worked for me, but what i did was select the eyebrow armature, go into pose mode, clicked on the "head" bone, created a "Child of" constraint, selected my octolings armature for the constraint, then the "Head" bone inside of that armature. I used the "Copy Scale" along with "Copy Transform" to make it fit properly. If youre having an issue with it not going near the head at all, hit "Set Inverse", and if needed you can click the X, Y, and Z buttons in the "Copy Transform" constraint, for me that usually works. (You might also want to rearrange the order of the Scale or Transform constraints to turn them off and on, sometimes that helps me) How i organized it If it doesn't, then I'd say import a new body and eyebrows and retry. Also what version of blender are you in? I've had issues with these models when importing them into anything 3.0 and above, so I use 2.91. If none of that works, i apologize :(

Can someone help me with the eyebrows? i cant seem to put it on with the copy transform or using the selected to cursor

@CrumbsInBed I think you are referencing to IK (Inverse Kinematics) if you are looking for how to use it, im not the person (im a complete n00b in blender) but this vid explains it and tells you how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-2v_CKmVE8

Is there a way to set up the rigs in such a way that I can pose it without moving all the bones by hand to get my result?

@Aurumantem I tryed to build your shader but It looks so dark and don't react when I chance the strength of the light. I also coudn't find all pictures you uses, as example in the nrm you used Normal_Bump.004 but it doesn't exist in my downloaded file.

it worked tysm! it was also pretty straightforward :-)

@alyzxh I have created a guide on how to attach Splatoon 2 clothing models to Splatoon 3 player models. You can view it here: https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-41208.html

That happens because the bone names / # of bones changed from S2 to S3.
I will post a guide on how to deal with this tomorrow.
