@Jasper7438 has a lot of useful tutorials! I've followed quite a few of them, but I still have a couple problems. I'm still somewhat new to blender, and I don't know if I'm just being stupid or what. I've figured out the whole alpha thing with the eyelid textures, but there's still some white left over around the eyelid texture. I know I'm supposed to replace this with the .mlta texture, but I just can't figure out how!
Also, is it possible to move the actual eyes of any of the inklings / octolings? I've messed around with all the bones for ages!

@cmars remember to always change your cameras orientation, basically the angle.
on the top right there is this weird shape full of colored circles that indicate the x axis, the y axis, and the z axis, use those to your advantage and always switch angles. :)

Oh and one more thing @cmars , it's ok to ask a lot of questions, these types of things are really hard, iv'e just barely got the hang of it but it wouldn't be possible without the help of this community, ask all the questions you have and i/ we will try to answer them all!

EDIT: i'll answer your other question, if you want to move the bones with the model, make sure that you click one of the bones then go to that tab in the top left, the one where you switch to object mode/ edit mode, then there will be a tab called pose mode, on that mode you can press R to rotate the armature, if you made your own armature with your own model, first make sure that the armature is parented with the model, if not nothing will happen during pose mode.

If you just editing the armature click one of the bones then go to edit mode and press C or B, this will create a circle or a box of selection, then press G, or G X/Y/ or Z. G means grab, it'll grab the armature, and then you can just move it around.:)

@mrs puh'f thanks so much! By the way, would I have to edit the existing skeleton or create a new one and attach it to the model? (and yes, I am using blender)
edit: I figured it out. You just go into edit mode and then rotate the bones to face the right way. (I feel like an idiot for not trying that earlier haha)

Update: so basically, i'm an idiot and did it all wrong. Although I really *did* figure out how to "fix" the armature, it still doesn't quite work correctly. I guess the real problem comes down to joining them correctly. I've tried different combinations of parenting the bones to each other but then that just makes them all stiff. Does anyone know how to make the bones move more like joints?
(also, sorry if i'm being too needy by asking all these silly questions)
edit: also, one other question (since I don't wanna make another post and clog up the forum) I noticed that in this video by Jasper: https://streamable.com/9vw4e1
he's able to move the bones around just by dragging them, if anyone could tell me what settings I'd need to use to do that, that'd be great. thanks!

i know that i'm not jasper, but you just have to do it by hand.
I know, it REALLY sucks but that's just how it is.
if you are using blender i recommend shift+S and or R+X/Y/ or Z

@Jasper7438 Ive been watching the tutorials you've posted on this forum and I'd just like to thank you for making them as they've helped me a lot in figuring out how to use these models. However, I noticed that in a few them, your armature is all nice and straight, rather than poking out everywhere. If it wouldn't bee too annoying, would you mind showing me how to do that?

i guess i just wanted you say thank you to both Jasper7438 and Yan for making my life a whole lot easier.

I make videos for people on here for things like attaching clothes to the player models, but for stuff like textures, I can't explain them because I don't understand them completely myself [Yan's good at texture stuff though, so thankful to you, Yan!]. I'm afraid that if I made a video, I'd have to give a lot of incomplete info. The biggest problem about making a complete video/series is that the person making it would have to know a lot...

There is a lot of useful information here. Have any of you considered making a tutorial video for all this? (Assuming there isn't a complete one already.)
