Just gonna copy-and-paste this quote from The Cutting Room Floor:
This would be meant to be seen by the player from Shipshape Island when looking through the telescope or looking back towards the linked islands. However, since this island is never seen by the telescope (it is accessed only through a pipe) and never gets linked (it was already an island to begin with before the game's events), this model would not be able to be seen by the player normally.
