Well, that was obvious, Frieren model is in .obj format, and this format doesn't support armatures, bones, or animations.
I already mentioned it in the README file included with the model:
"This model was extracted with another tool because the creator of the better tool doesn't want people extract collaboration models, so thats why this model is in a different format and doesn't include the animations."

This model doesn't have any armatures when I load it into Blender...
