Blender's devs removed native support for this file format for safety issue (after all, a dae file's just an xml file...so malicious code could be added in) |

Like if I just downloaded a model and found a .DAE that I can't import without finding some add-on or a .FBX or .OBJ im just going to pick the easier rought. Also, this is not some hate thing on how .DAE were bad because there were fine.Also the .FBX support is build in and turned on by default. |

They are currently still selling merch of their original SMG4 characters after several years, including Tari, yet they never got copyright issues from Nintendo. If Tari had the same design as one of Nintendo's properties, then yeah, they would totally get sued, but here that's not the case. |

Removing unnecessary geometry from a model is also part of that process, if anything, when a model has geometry inside that will never see any use, it can be a sign that they didn't have the time or need to go in and remove that from the model. |
