Someone put him in SFM, have him voiced by Jim Carrey, and we're golden.
I personally like the GTAesque models because it made Sonic stand out more. Nowadays he just blends in with his anthropomorphic "friends" and it honestly feels like Mobius all over again, at this point his only special abilities are boosting and homing attacks, everyone else can run fast for some reason, Shadow skates fast, Silver flies fast (faster than Sonic actually), Tails flies fast, the rookie can run at the same speed as Sonic, and in Sonic Dash everyone runs fast, could you imagine how many bad ideas would never have seen the light of day if Sega stuck with this style? No overly used Classic Sonic, no overly used Wisps, in fact I doubt Wisps would even exist, etc. The games they wanted to have darker themes could've actually have had darker themes if they weren't so Cartoony.

@JetTheFox96 It's not like SEGA are little children who have somehow gotten the hang of 3D modelling. People have the right to critique and criticise it, and they're not being unreasonable by doing so.
In fact, if it wasn't for people harshly criticising models, we wouldn't have gotten the new Movie Sonic design and we would've all had to silently suffer through the original design in the movie.
What on earth do you mean by "it's not their fault", anyway? It's not like the model manifested itself within the game and they couldn't get it out.
