Oh, you're right, seems there are some details of the material that my exporter didn't catch. Use only the red channel for step 1, then only the green channel for step 2. I updated the instructions to reflect this.

The material uses the different RGB channels for different masking effects. See the material file for more info.
Why are the vertex colors on the planet bright pink and bright blue
Probably one of the largest planets you can visit in this game
I'm not using the alpha here because all my attempts to add it just seem to make it look way worse. May fiddle with it some more since I don't really understand it, but it seems to look fine without it. Thanks for helping me out!
