they already are ripped as ground.png and sky.png, sorry that i didnt clarify.
Sorry, I mean ripping the background layer out as a single sprite or texture to be put in like Spriters Resource or Textures Resource or something like that....
the floor and sky in game arent models, theyre background layers being scaled to create an illusion. theres no model to rip. i included the images for more crafty people to use.
Is it possible to dump the Background layers?
Yeah the Saturn was apparently extremely underpowered when it came to making PS1-esque 3D games. The founder of Traveler's Tales has a whole video on the struggles of making Sonic R look as it does.

The floor isnt a model in-game. its a background layer thats rotated and scaled to make the illusion of a floor. same with the sky.

i think the grass and water are planes rendered by vdp2, while the rest is all vdp1 polygons and sprites.
