@PlasticMilkMachine: There is nothing wrong with the DAE format besides filesize efficiency. It supports everything we could need for models, including vertex colors. It's not the format's fault that Blender's devs care so little about it that they can't bother to code their importers and exporters correctly.

"Yes, let's just use the name of the mesh as the node ID, because nobody would ever give a mesh the same name as the scene. Yes, all rigged meshes should always load at the world origin because nobody should rig a mesh with an offset anyway, forget the transformation nodes. Yes, of course the rigging data should be based on the bone's display name instead of its ID. Oh, the texture already exists? Just make a new copy anyway and give it a second file extension." --Blender devs probably

The DAE format has remained the same for over a decade and is still widely supported. Since it is plain text, I can fix issues such as material issues or XML errors without re-exporting the whole model. It is stable, reliable, and easy to debug.

If you think FBX is just as reliable, try opening it up in a text editor to fix a texture path, or try loading a new FBX in an older version of Blender, or loading a super old FBX in the newest Blender. It's all fun and games until you find that your program doesn't support that specific FBX version. Being able to embed textures is convenient until you have a modern HD model with 50MB worth of textures packed inside when they are already inside the folder.

We do allow GLTF files as a bonus, but not as a substitute for OBJ/DAE. It is too new to replace the main formats. It does seem promising, so maybe in the future it will be allowed as a third option.

@Peardian you really should allow GLB/glTF files or atleast make FBX a requirement for new submissions. Nobody likes DAE files, it's a bad format it's only good for learning what a converter is.

i know glb is not supported but i have to export the textures manually out of them if i want to have them properly textured, and i ripped them myself from the .bin archives
for the angry birds go models, i also ripped them myself but uploaded on my sketchfab account first

@fajnygosciu1234: Please read the submission guidelines. We do not allow GLB files or packed-in textures. And, just as a reminder, we don't allow the submission of other people's rips.

i might upload the karts here but they use 2 separate models, one for the body and the other the suspensions, the models have marker positions where you can ssemble them, at least it's easier than ripping modnation karts, the models are also in glb format and have textures packed
