it's easier to tell that the Playstation logo is 3D by looking at the rounded edge of the P and the perspective not exactly matching, but THIS? this looks exactly like a sprite
@TotallyNotNess Someone correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not familiar with the PS1, but according to my research, the console can't really display true 2-dimensional graphics; it maps the texture on a flat polygon, and then lays said polygon parallel to the camera, effectively making 2-dimensional graphics.
Edit: Opening the model in Blender confirms this.
Edit 2: I'm assuming the 'animation' on the logo is done by offsetting the texture.

@TotallyNotNess like I said, it's flat, colored polygons being used to make a sharp 2D image so yes, it is very much a model.
this is a model???
It's the same technique CTR used for the illustrations on the boss garages except significantly less complex. Flat polygons being used to produce a sharp 2D image.
huh?
this is a model?
they had models in PlayStation BIOS menus??

@Sonictheoofhog4: Magic. *Snort snort*
how is this a model
I was watching BIOS corruption videos, and turns out this was a model the whole time.
Wait, this thing is a model as well?
All this time until now, I thought it was an FMV clip...
