I don't know if they'd count as "official", but you could try. There's a page for the HL2 beta, so maybe the alpha models could go in a HL1 prerelease section.

@capdukeymomoman: Since my models of the Xen enemies have been accepted now, I'll probably go ahead and rip those along with the HECU enemies that I already planned for. The period between submission and acceptance can take a while, though.

Decompile mdl files with Crowbar, import SMD files to Blender and then export them as FBX/DAE. You are good to go.

It should be clarified that the Vortigaunt and Zombie models are from the HD pack, as those have an immensely different artstyle and polygon count.

something i found strange about this was that at some point, every model was seemingly pending, but it seems like that is was rejected for some reason
