If I knew how, I'd 100% rip Haurchefant and his minion form,,, qwq

Would it be possible to rip Hydaelyn? I don't know how the game files work

you could rip the manikin player models. it might be a bit easier

@Syogren late reply so you probably know this by now, but the graphics update for the game is focused on mainly the player character models and their gear + environments, and we know now with the benchmark release the facial rigs for playable races are also being updated. However since all the submitted and pending models are mounts/bosses/minions and no characters from playable races they shouldn't be affected by the graphics update.
Unrelated but I'm somewhat surprised that there aren't any characters from the non playable races like the pixies or dragons that have been submitted, since i figured they'd bypass the split model issues that playable races have.

These models even come with armatures for easy animating, whoever uploaded these thanks so much!

@Ashley Kinda? The outfits are stored in parts, including any skin that is shown with any one piece of outfit, so even if you're using The Emporers New Clothes set to see them in their smallclothes, you will still have to grab each body part from their respective places.
This allows the game to very quickly piece together whatever it wants whenever it needs it, but it does make the way it's stored a little annoying for rippers yeah.
It would be very helpful for someone to develop a tool that lets you quickly obtain the model of a character from playerdata for the models that use it, but I definitely don't have the time to make such a tool. TexTools has a feature to create your WoL, but it is a bit tedious to manually search for the parts rather than just loading playerdata.
Unrelated but I actually have catalogued where a lot of ARR/HW monster models are stored, I've just been too lazy to add them to the doc. If anyone needs me to actually add them in a timely manner, please let me know.
Unrelated 2 but I believe one of the announcements for Dawntrail is that they're enhancing the graphics a bit, which may mean some of these models might change. How are we going to handle this, and is anyone making sure the old versions of these asset files are stored somewhere so we can rip them without the time pressure?

i take it there's some issues with getting models of most characters since they're composites of player customization pieces?

Will do!

I don't believe there is a forum thread set up for this game, but I am more then happy for anyone to reach out to me either on the forums or on discord if they'd like some help in ripping from the game.

Sorry if this question is against the rules, but do we have a forum thread set up for this game? I have figured out how to rip some models, but I'm not sure how to rip others.

@Grounder You'll probably find that the zips that have the larger file sizes are using larger resolution textures, normal and specular maps included. (2048 x 2048 in Kefka's case). Re saving the images actually increases the file size, and if you were to use something like PNGauntlet, you wouldn't be seeing much of a difference in file size. The models themselves are also pretty detailed so are contributing to 25% of the file size too.

Looking at the ZIP sizes, there must be some poorly compressed textures for some of these.

Oh, so you cracked the format for these? Awesome...
Does anyone know how you cracked these? I have the game, so I can probably rip more stuff...
