Instead of ripping it from the game, the last person ripped the models from a steam pack

@SmashBrosFan137: If the models were ripped from the Switch version, they would have to be submitted under the Switch version, not the PC version.

Out of curiosity does the Switch version of this use the exact same Files as the Steam one or not? Cause I'm thinking renting this Game for Switch only to dump the Assets and try to rip the Models themselves which I don't know what Program is used to rip those cause I don't really know what Engine this Game uses.

@BurntWafflez you can export models from the A Hat in Time - Modding Tools as a .fbx. I was able to export textures using a modded version of Umodel, but there may be a way to export the textures from the modding tools. After that, creating the materials for the model might require going into modding tools and looking at the nodes for the material. I don't know if there is any other way to recreate the materials from an exported .fbx to my knowledge. Hope this helps!

@Aquatically404 how do I export the AHIT models from the actual game?
BurntWafflez Mar 4, 2023 12:47 AM
Avatar
@BurntWafflez: No, because Custom / Edited is a section for submitting your own custom work, not someone else's.

@Random Talking Bush Shouldn't his submission of Guimian's models be in customs anyway?

I rip my models from the actual game,
The game has a modding tool that allows you to export the actual models
You can use UModel to extract the textures

Understood, my apologies on that.

@Gnocchi_Boss: No, we most certainly do NOT allow that! Your submissions have thus been removed from the site, and if you think of submitting Guimian's ports again instead of ripping the actual game's models then you will be banned.

@SmashBrosFan137 I personally rip all these via the AHIT-workshop. The Steam pack has alot of stuff, but not any of the Steam packs has the cool unused things. I plan on uploading them onto SFM at some point in the near-future but I still can't get basic static mesh to function correctly. Edit: (I dunno if the other models not by me have been scrapped from SFM so it might be true, but I dunno personally lol)

Fun Fact: These Models were originally Source Engine themselves which was uploaded by a Person on Steam, were these given permission to be uploaded or not?Cause I was reading Comments on Steam that they weren't allowed to be uploaded by someone who originally ripped them
