for some reason i get irrationally angry when the NES color pallete isnt used when they use NES mario

MAMA MIA

I'm just confused how they got the color palette so completely wrong here the shirts supposed to be greenish brown, as should the shoes, hair, eyes and mustache

yallow

mreeeoooow game

@Agent 9 this is a unused outfit

this feels like it could be an outfit

the texture format is the same as 3d world so this is the 3d world model

.... It Looks Custom..

Welcome to Super Mario Bros. ... IN 3D!!!!

The 8-bit sections could have originally used 3D models instead of sprites, which would explain this model.

A recolored version of a Mario from SM3DW model. Yeah, I know.

I feel like this was a scrapped costume, in 8 bit sections it could use the OG pallette

Wonder why it has the SMB1 Mario colors, could it be a test model for the costumes and Mario himself?

I think they used this model as the prototype mostly because Odyssey's development began immediately after 3D World, so it would make sense since this was the most recent model.

@Saetta06
Oh, thank you for that. I honestly had no idea. :3
Still worth me downloading and converting don't you think?

this model is from mario 3d world, just re-textured.

This model shares its color scheme with Invincible Mario palette 1 from NES SMB
The red was slightly darker and the skin was paler, but I think they probably took inspiration from that and classic Mario's normal palette either way.
There may also have been a sepiatone segment planned where this might have been used. Might be worth while to see if TCRF can find anything out.

My theory is that this was used to test the alternate costumes.

@Random Talking Bush Does the color pallette from this model come from a previous Mario game? I don't remember seeing such thing before.
