So I took the patience to dig through the switch version of the game, and I gotta say, they did everything to make it as difficult as possible.

First, you need all the basics. Key files, Yuzu / Ryujinx, and the ROM.
Taking it apart leaves you with a directory with exactly 2.5k dummy files and the usual sdf kinda stuff.

Further, you need QuickBMS and a modified ubisoft script. This will actually give you the full source now, but it doesn't stop there.
Taking a look at it with noesis and the proper plugin, gives you the full models along with rigs.

I don't understand their naming conventions really, as it pretty much changes every 50 files.
Sometimes, it's neatly organized like "fx_harvester_prime_omega_beam_msh.mmb", but then you have folders which are just hex, or have countless spaces.
Despite this, the folder organization is even worse. Our main folder of interest is apparently "onward".
It contains all the models, music (which I was also able to reverse), cutscenes, and more.

I also took a glance at the DDS files, and they really put the effort in. It's encrypted in some manner, possibly bc7. I was not able to open it with any program that supposedly supports it, including Neosis. After doing some more digging, I found a file called "bc7.opencl". This SPECIFIC file is used in a single project on github, namely "volition-inc/bc7_gpu". After a quick comparison, I found out that they are virtually identical. So the only thing from stopping me is to just mass post half of the meshes onto this site is pretty much some project that hasn't been updated in 12 years.

EDIT: The .dds files are either NOT dds, or are encrypted. I haven't found a single tool that is capable of supporting them.

Does anyone know if there is a 3D model of StarWolf and StarFox's characters? Or are they just cut-scene models in video form only?

they should be able to open in Neosis since it has a DDS format built-in.. x.x

So I managed to get the meshes, and technically I have the files for the textures, but sadly I can't get them to work! They're DDS, but don't open in Paint.net or Noesis, suggesting that it might not be a standard DDS file.

Anyone know how to rip from this game? I really want to see the ships uploaded here (the DLC exclusives especially), and would love to lend a hand if provided with the know-how. It's a Snowdrop engine game, so it's probably not as simple as ripping from Unity/UE4 games, unsure if there's any tools for it. The PC port would likely be easier to rip from. Also, are we certain that the characters don't have models in-game? I could have sworn I've seen a full model of Mason in an SFM video once...

The characters don't actually have models. They are sprites and BINK videos.

I wonder if the other models are possible to rip, aside the vehicles like the characters themselves.
