@Random Talking Bush: what do you mean? i searched all the files none of the exclusive gear for japan is in there you cant even see it if a friend has it because its on the japanese only , i checked the files of the US version and the secret agent set from the magazine isnt in it

Yeah, as Random Talking Bush said, Japanese players still need to show up in European and American lobbies, and if they were wearing this gear, it would show up as either an error or they would be wearing the clt_inv or smth like that. All versions have them, you just can't obtain and wear them outside of the Japanese version. Hope that made sense :P

@VR_SharkMelon: Why would the Japanese version matter? All three versions of the game (US/EUR/JPN) have the same content.

i noticed theres no agent gear, the secret agent set, can be easily ripped from the japanese version of the game even without the code, i would rip it but i dont have the stuff to get into the splatoon 2 files to make it a folder

The method we use isn't perfect [since these textures are meant for the splatoon 2 engine and not for blender], it doesn't always turn out perfectly with the base textures.

I would suggest mixing the THC texture with black to make it darker, then the SS won't be so strong.

Ok, so I tested it and I was doing it on Callies hair and it resulted in it being all whatever color I had multipliying with the TRM. Any reason this happens or a ways to make it NOT happen?

@Jasper7438 Thank you so much! I am a little confused on the 2nd half of what you wrote though. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is the suburface. Also, where does it go in relation to the rest of the textures? Like where do I plug in the multiply? Thank you for your help!

@teammarie TRM is part of the textures that give the models in game special lighting effects, as described here https://wiki.oatmealdome.me/index.php?title=Splatoon_2/Textures

The method of using them in cycles [that I learned from Yan/Stuffles] was to use the TRM tex as a subsurface color texture. To do that you take the TRM texture and using a mix RGB node multiply it with another color [ex. if you're using a skin color TRM it is best to multiply it with a darkish red/orange color].

As for the subsurface value, you would use the corresponding THC texture for the material, or if there isn't a THC texture, just use a low value that looks good. [please note that the look of subsurface will change depending on the size of the model, so it is a good idea to increase the model size and to apply transforms after with ctrl+a!].

Does anyone have a way to set up the TRM textures in cycles? I can't seem to get it to look right.

you should be able to use meshpart to import the models you want but you might need a optimize a few models or just use splatoon 1 models

any o yall know how i can get these models into something like roblox studio? i wanna test roblox's limits lol

Cuz if it's on Switch, I don't think Centrixe will have a hard time ripping the models. But if Nintendo drops a new console, fat rip for Centrixe's sanity.

The main question is, will Splatoon 3 be on Switch, or will Nintendo drop a new console next year?
