It only look squished because of the angle we're looking at it. In the game, the maws jumps up and we see the side of the model. In this render, we're facing it head-on, which makes the sides look shorter.
WHY IS IT SO SQUISHED?!?!
Nah, you can usually see about 90% of Maws when it rises up from the ground.
That's an awful lot of detail they put into the portion of its body you're most likely never going to see
