@Barack Obama: Final Bowser is the same base model, with the same textures, just with some rainbow vertex colors added.
I suppose his looks in the final fight are ingame special effects rather than different textures, otherwise they would have probably been ripped already.

now that's what i call an improvement.
in case anyone sees a screwed up and mangled rest pose for the animated files, that's normal. that was how the rig originally was in the rom, and it can't be easily edited into a more sensible pose without breaking the animations.
for this reason, i've included an extra file with an improved rest that should be easier to animate and adapt to other rigs.

Looks like this one got updated to include animations.
i think the sm64 devs modelled bowser in orthographic mode with old artwork as references, as the bowser model looks far less off-model when in those modes

Even when my mind saw everything else as looking perfectly on-model in this game due to my youth, Bowser's giant baby-like head stuck out like a sore thumb.....
He looks like a big Bowser Jr. rather than Bowser tbh
Looking at him close up, he looks almost exactly like that old plush Bowser doll I got back in the 64 era too.
