The black ball of the bob-omb is the same texture as the black bowling balls the small fire spitters the elevator tracks black balls the bombs of the butterflys and the black balls that the snufit shoots

Boos and Chain Chomp aren't. Boos were a bit more elongated in that game though. Chain Chomps couldn't do that because of the indentation that their mouths make.
That's how it was.
