I feel like Mario was used as a Placeholder during the development for Luigi's Mansion. I could be wrong.
@Sp0nge80b Why? It is great that they thought of this once and it's a cool thing to think about if Mario ended up being playable in the final game.
The gloves look like the same model as luigi, nothing else looks like it was taken apart from the poltergust straps

Just for the people that don't know. This is called "bmario" and it was a Mario model stretched to Luigi's height with the poltergust straps on his body. It was hinting at a scrapped multiplayer mode, and later someone discovered leftover code for a multiplayer in the game, and it had a splitscreen that was already coded in, and the person who found it did a bunch of coding to make it (somewhat) working, and there is now a sorta broken rom hack that makes the game multiplayer.

mario looks a little taller than the regular one
This is Mario's normal model with his arms and legs stretched to match Luigi, which means he was probably originally gonna be playable. I'm guessing they wouldn't have used this model anyway, and instead give Mario new animations that are rigged for his used model.
