They started airing Ren and Stimpy on Nicktoons around this time, watched it a lot as a kid
I believe the developers added the classic Nicktoon characters like Ren and Stimpy to fill the roster, but Ren and Stimpy was already going through bad reception thanks to the Adult Party Cartoon. I mean for 2011, Ren and Stimpy making a big return was pretty cool.

I thought Nickelodeon wanted to disassociate themselves with Ren and Stimpy as much as possible after the Adult Party Cartoon.
I'm pretty sure that 2011's kids will know who the heck are Ren and Stimpy
