It's honestly surprising that this page doesn't have more models on it, considering that there is a whole gallery dedicated to these kinds of things.
Well... they certainly didn't want us to see these outside of the native res.
Other than that, though, I do remember loving this as a very young kid and I did get another copy a while ago. This was a really good one.

For a long time I thought they reused the models from Mario 64 DS
Why some of those character models' icon renders have specular set to highest?

Yeah the models from this are really low poly, but you rarely ever see them close up. They’re also pretty good looking models actually, much better than some from other DS games

i don't remember the models being that low poly. i thought they reused the models from Mario And Sonic at the Olympic games. though it make sense, since the characters are far from the camera
