These models are good examples of "see the illusion and you can't unsee it anymore"

i havent heard of this game before but having 2d heads on 3d bodies is a very interesting choice and makes me wonder what a modern game would look like if it did the same. it especially works with ed edd eddy considering some of the hobgoblins from the gamecube game

This game is supposed to be in 2D, but the 3D bodies actually made the characters look better on DS Hardware.
And easier to animate instead of having to draw each sprite pixel by pixel.

@OmniGamerX: It's fixed now. For future reference, you can use the report function to inform us of incorrect game genres, as it sends us a message directly so we don't have to look through the comments in order to spot errors.

This is an action game.

Please teach me how to to get models from D's/DSi game's anyone please let me know tutorial n tools to extract 3d model

My assumption is that they either had trouble modeling the heads or they had trouble rendering them on the DS. You can see parts of Ed's head in his texture.

2d heads.... but 3d bodies???

legit af

Scam of the Century. Sounds legit.

Is it me or the models are mirrored?

also how is this a shoot 'em up

I just realized something: the cutscenes use different models than the main game. And you've ripped only the cutscene models of the 3 Eds...

@jumbods64 I think the reason the heads are in 2D is because low-poly 3D heads of these characters would look horrible.

I wonder if I could use that method to rip Cory in the House models...

memory dump in DesMUME and manually extract the BMD0 headers with hex editing, then open them in MKDS Course Modifier

also, how did you rip this?! i opened the rom in Tinke and the entire game seems to be a single .bin file.

I think the reason that the bodies are 3D but the heads are 2D is that stylized cartoony heads tend to be more inconsistent between different angles, and so consequentially they're harder to model. >see Ed Edd and Eddy: The Mis-Edventures, the heads there look kinda weird

If you look closely at the models in-game, that's exactly what they are. The outlining just tricks your eyes.
