@lumpy Spirit The animator you are all thinking of was Will Vinton, he is one of the "Big Three" of Stopmotion, alongside Nick Park (Aardman), Art Clokey (Gumbasia and Gumby) he was the man who coined the term "Claymation" which was used for many many productions of his. Best know for The Noid and the Californian Raisins.
He also made a Christmas Special which was hosted by a pair of Dinosaurs one who was obsessed with adding extra butter to his snacks and treats as the other tried to figure out a old words meaning in a Carrol that everyone kept singing a word that rhymed with the true word "Wassailing" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wassailing was heard as "Waddle" by a flock of Geese, "Waffle" by a group of bakers and finally a group who said it right and explained properly.
I am guessing this character is a parody of The Noid who we all know of, saddest thing on the Noid was a man with that name thought (Due to mental problems) the whole "Stop the Noid" was targetting him. he held people hostage and no one was hurt, he even ordered a pizza from Dominos durring it. But it was a rabbit hole I will not go into as it could being appropriate in certain points.
Sorry for the long post just sharing what I know, Claymation is a very loved animation art to me.

Yeah, but he wasn't really Aardman-styled like Noise is.
