Interesting that Blinky appears to be based on his Pac-Man World appearance, considering he has a different design in the Mario Kart arcade games.

Mametchi and Waluigi don't have LOD models since the LOD models went entirely unused for the other characters in both GP 1 and this game, so they never bothered creating LOD models for both of them.
DK's face reminded me of that death frame from DKC 1.

Right, so, may as well say it in the comments as well. Waluigi and Mamtetechi have engine placeholders for LOD models, but they're duplicates of Mario. These are leftovers from the first Arcade GP.
