That's one heck of a T Pose
This version of the Wing is actually used for only Bowser, not any other enemies or objects.
The illusion works pretty well. Specially with it slightly being shaped up to work with the textures.
Seriously, looking at it from close, it looks a little bad, but since those are 3DS models, and 3DS models are low-poly because of how much the carts can store, and low-poly models are about illusions to make them not look as low-poly...specially in such consoles with small screens like the 3DS
