It's like they rushed the 3DS port out the door, all they did was reduce the polygons on every model (very poorly), reduced the texture quality, and then added 3DS controls and called it a day.
Yeah man, that good 'ol Blender decimate modifier did you a lot right there.

I love how the 3DS model clearly has U/V mapping issues (Just look at his torso, some of his pants texture is on it), it's like the developers couldn't be bothered to fix it.
