The 3DS version's story follows closer to the plot of Season 1 episodes 1 and 2 with the tree of life being stolen. The 2nd game is just a port of the console version.

While his eyes aren't opened in the preview image, the 3DS version did a better job for his eyes than what the console versions didn't.
